Last month, April and Becky tied the knot at a friend’s property on Vashon Island (a short ferry ride from Seattle). It was a truly fabulous wedding from start to finish. First of all, Becky is a fairly new friend of mine, and I absolutely love her to pieces. So, seeing our mutual friends, and watching her marry the girl of her dreams, made the day very special. I also loved their 1920s and 1930s theme. So many guests dressed up in costume; it was fabulous! Becky’s brother’s band, the Tin Pan Band (check them out!) flew in from New York to play for the occasion. Every single song was amazing. In addition to that, a swing-dance group came in and gave everyone swing-dance lessons. And since Becky’s family is Jewish, at the end of the night, they threw in some Jewish tradition by playing “Hava Nagila” and doing the Hora (carrying the couple around on chairs). Such good times!
The overall vibe of the day was purely celebratory. There was so much love and joy and excitement, it was palpable. Congratulations to a very lucky couple. I’m so very happy you have found each other, April and Becky!
